A Symbol of Remembrance, Hope, and Resilience.
Poppies have inspired me to create my entire series of paintings. I am drawn to their vibrant colours and delicate petals, but I am also fascinated by their deeper meaning. Poppies are a symbol of remembrance, hope, and resilience, and I strive to capture these qualities in my paintings.
Poppies have always inspired me. From my childhood home in Ukraine, where fields of poppies swayed in the breeze, to the Remembrance Day poppies that adorn our streets and lapels every November, these delicate yet powerful flowers have captured my imagination.
When I moved to the UK, I was struck by the deep connection between poppies and Remembrance Day. These flowers have become a symbol of remembrance and hope for millions of people around the world. I am inspired by the way that poppies unite us in our grief and honour for those who have served and sacrificed.
I am also drawn to the philosophy of the poppy flower. Poppies are resilient and adaptable, capable of thriving in even the harshest conditions. This reminds me of the human spirit, which is also capable of great resilience and strength.
My paintings of poppies are often large-scale and up-close, so that the viewer can fully appreciate the beauty and fragility of the flower. I also use a variety of colors and textures to create a sense of movement and dynamism. I want my paintings to evoke a sense of wonder and awe, but also a sense of hope and resilience.
Poppies are a reminder of the sacrifices that have been made for our freedom, but they are also a symbol of hope for the future. They represent the ability of life to flourish even in the harshest of conditions. I hope that my paintings of poppies will inspire others to see the beauty and resilience of life, even in the midst of darkness.
